Legislation
Rwanda doesn't have specific legislation on disinformation however there are laws that have restrictions on disinformation in general speech. Law Nº 68/2018 of 30/08/2018 criminalizes false information spread with the intention of creating public dissatisfaction with Rwanda's government or that discredit the national currency of Rwanda. Law N° 60/2018 of 22/8/2018 "prohibits individuals from knowingly publishing rumours via a computer that may incite fear, insurrection or violence amongst the population, or may make a person lose their credibility." The scope of "rumours is unclear.[3]
