Mexico does not have specific legislation addressing disinformation, however election authorities have made efforts to combat "fake news".[1]
False Fact-Checking Unit
Mexico's state run news agency called Notimex claimed to have a fact checking unit. In 2019 the NGO article 19 discovered that Notimex created a network of bots and fake accounts and was using them to attack prominent journalists.[2]
